Tires:
There is definitely a reason why BFG won 20 consecutive victories in the grueling Baja 1000. It is a TOUGH and PROVEN tire!
One of the aspects which also greatly benefit us the great variety of type and sizes of Off Road tires that BFG manufacture. Generally, you will see our race vehicles shoed with the Baja T/A, although that through the work that Andrea has carried out with the new Mud Terrain KM in the Wide Open tours, he has been totally convinced that this tire has revolutionized the general public tire market. These tires offer an incredible off the shelf grip and resistance, and are much lighter that the Baja T/A. So don't be surprised to see ATRacing swithcihg to this tire for some of the desert races.
For you local Baja distributor, and all set up and balancing needs, look for your friendly guys at TERSA.
Wheels: AWC Beadlock Racing Wheels
"Although Baja is a beautiful, attractive and mesmerizing place, it can also be very harsh and punishing if you are a desert race truck. Filled with surprises, its driver never knows what to expect next, and sometimes has to make very quick decision of between the best of two terrible terrains. Sometimes, the only solution to avoid getting the truck stuck in vehicle swallowing silt is to drive onto rocks, or try to find a trail through hard cactus. These are the times when truck and driver are only as good as the equipment he has with him, and this is the reason why we always and only choose the AWC Beadlock Desert Wheels. So far they have been indestructible and very faithful, always doing its job in getting us out of trouble. And believe me; we DO put it in trouble. Thanks AWC! You are the best!"
GAUGES: AUTOMETER Liquid Filled Gauges
The AUTOMETER Liquid Filled Gauges are basically… the only way to go. No maybe, no hums or hars… You cannot afford to run anything else in your cab if you want to not only have precise instruments, but have a hope in hell to be able to read them when running through the woops at full throttle!
Designed and proven to be the most durable gauges on the planet, liquid filled mechanical gauges use AUTOMETER standard top of the line and extremely durable 270 degree sweep Pro-Comp mechanical gauge movements and fill them with a liquid silicone compound for extreme vibration dampening and smooth pointer movement. These gauges are proven to give steady and accurate readings in the harshest of competition environments. Trust me, they have been thoroughly tested!

Air Filter; K&N XStream We all know that K&N is anonymous with a breath of fresh air when it comes to running in the dust, but K&N have been able to step it up even another notch with the XStream Air Flow Tops. Not only does it add filter area, but it actually redirects airflow inside the filter to pull more air through the side pleats for even greater performance efficiency. Cleanable and reusable, the XStream system delivers the best protection available for your engine.
Combine this with a K&N PreCharger Filter Wrap, which extends the service interval of your K&N filter when used in very dusty conditions. And, yes, you will be using it in VERY dusty conditions! The PreCharger will stop small dirt particles with minimal restriction to the airflow of the filter. AND…it comes in a selection of COOL colors!

Safety Equipment:
When it comes to safety equipment, quality is obviously second to none, which is guaranteed by this Italian manufacturer. However, in real life, when you are sitting in the race truck for seven hours… comfort is EXTREMELY important. Now, if you can match both, whilst still keeping prices reasonable, you have a winning combination! Although SPARCO mostly carries some very high end products, they also offer the same quality and comfort in some more basic design, at very competitive prices, as we have found in their ONE PLUS suits, Circuit Shoes and Gloves.
Bags:
When you travel as much as we do, especially having to present helmets and race suits at contingencies, as well as hauling clothes and stuff in chase trucks through the desert when pre-running or doing tours, it is REALLY nice to count on bags that are built especially for the Motor and Adventure industry, which are not only tough, but well thought out. For short trips, the 7900 is a great bag, but for serious travel, nothing beat the 9800. For more info…
Batteries: The OPTIMA RedTop When it comes to batteries, there is no much that needs to be said about the unmistakable OPTIMA. Not only is it built to withstand the abuse that we regularly dish out to it by internally immobilizing its components, it is also spill proof. Really handy when you need to start the truck back up after a little roll over… It is this simple: when it comes to batteries : it is Optima or Optima!
