ATRacing January 2008 Newsletter
A message to all 2008 sponsors:

THANK YOU!
ATRacing cant express their gratitude enough to the sponsors who supported us in 2007, and we are very happy to be continuing with again in 2008, and look forward to a really exciting season. It is kind of scary, although gratifying, to realize that we have now been working with most of you for over a decade! We are not THAT old, are we…? Seriously, thank you, and we are very grateful to have the support of the best companies in the industry!

K&N Filters, AUTOMETER Gauges, OPTIMA Batteries, Allied Wheel Components, Fox Racing Shocks, Quaker State, Prisa Paints, Morfo Racing, Buffalo Bar -B-Q.

We would also like to welcome some new sponsors whom have joined us for this season:

Laboratorios Armstrong took the step to run the first Motor Sports sponsorship Program this year through ATRacing as Title Sponsor with the Indigestion Relief Pills BAGOHEPAT, and we are grateful for their trust in us.

We are also welcoming back BFGoodrich as our Tire Sponsor, whose tires have risen from over three decades of Off Road racing and testing, and their wide tire and size selection allows us to adapt tires to the race at hand.

Being Italian, I am especially happy to be wearing SPARCO Race wear this year, as style and comfort go hand in hand in their products.

With all the travel I am doing with Wide Open, SOBE introduced me to the best bags I have ever seen, especially designed with motor sports in mind. Actually, I like the products SO MUCH, that I approached OGIO for sponsorship, and we are happy to have their support this season. And Sam, thanks for the introduction to the great brand.

ATRacing ready for 2008:

WOW!!!!
2008 is already here!!! That went quick. Well, it is almost for the better, as we at ATRacing are biting at the bit to start the new season!

The whole team currently has their hands full with getting ready for the new season, and I am asking for forgiveness up front to all the racing wives whom probably want to chase me down with a chain saw for keeping their husbands working overtime!

Everybody at Banda Jr Race Fabrication are busy making some changes to the new addition to the ATR fleet, the ex-champion Class 6 FORD Bronco, previously raced by our friend Filli Diaz from Loreto. The truck is being fine tuned, and having some suspension changes, so that it will be ready to give our new driver Bert Tjeenk a chance to clench the victory in Class 6.

Class 6 will be the team's main goal this season, with Andrea & Bert signing up as joint drivers in the Bronco, and Andrea will most probably pilot the truck in Short Course races whilst Bert will tame it in the Desert races.

The FORD Explorer known as "La Iguana" will be competing in Class 8 in most of the Championship races, so we will see two trucks sporting the ATR and its sponsor's colors this season.

Russ, our web master, has also been working overtime, rebuilding a whole new site to make it more user friendly, and more attractive. We think so anyway. Let us know of your comments of the new site.

We will be participating in the ProBaja Southern Baja Off Road Championship again this year, whom have just announced their new schedule ( see SCHEDULE) . There are two of the races that will be shared between both U-PRO and ProBaja, the famous Dos Mares 500 and the Loreto 400, so the turn out on these races is bound to be huge, so book your stay early!

We have also invested in a FORD Ranger CLASS 7 truck, which will be used for pre-running, but may also compete in some of the National Mexican races depending on their schedule.

Apart from Racing, Andrea will continue his hard work organizing tours and spearfishing trips, however from January to June you will most likely find him playing with race cars in the desert as he is guiding the Wide Open tours, enjoying every minute he gets behind the wheel of these super smooth, super quick USD$100,000 race buggies.

The first race of the season is the 2 & 3rd of March, from Ciudad de Constitucion to La Paz, so keep an eye on this site for a sneak preview on the team's new color scheme… bet you it is going to be subtle as always…

See you in the dirt soon!
